Elias Elhardt - Argentina forever..
26/08/2009
Hey out there, hope you're all having a great summer! I enjoyed summer too but now I'm really motivated to go shredding again. One week ago I went snowboarding for the first time after the 3 month summer break again, it was sooo fun! So from now on, for the the season starts again....I just arrived in Argentina for a Rip Curl shooting, to hopefully shred some powder soon! Here, a little picture story from my past week:
I went to Saas Fee for 3 days before I flew over to south america. Riding there was super good. Just to be back on the board was so much fun.
One day, we got up at 4:30, because a friend told us, that only on this day, there's a special "sunrise gondola" going up at 5:30 already. Unfortunately he got confused with dates and sent us up one day to early. Didn't matter to much though. Then we just slept on the bench for a while, went up with first regular gondola and had a supergood day shredding again.
After three days of riding in Saas Fee I drove to Zürich, left my car there at a friend's place and got a flight over Madrid to Buenos Aires. I took this pic in the airport of Madrid. I spent two days in Buenos Aires then. That was really nice. In the hostel I stayed I got to know a super cool guy, called Tom, with him I spent most of the time there. The first night we went out for partying till 7 in the morning....;-)
After these two days in Buenos I went with the Bus to the Skiresort Bariloche. That means 20 hours of busride on the forever straight roads across Argentina to the Ants. I slept most of the time anyways, I was still supertired from the flight and the party straight after.
I'm here in Bariloche since three days now and it hardly ever stopped raining (to the top). So at the moment we're just waiting for some better weather to come. More about my time in Argentina soon.....
Day 25 - Last blog
24/08/2009
Hey folks
My trip downunder comes to an end. Finally we had some good weather the last days and went on Mount Cheeseman and Cragieburn. It snowed a little and we did some stuff there. Unfortunately I felt super ill on Mount Cheeseman. But I'm already fine. Again Now we finished our Snowboardtrip officially and we will spend our last days in Kiwiland on the Norther Island as tourists. When I look back I have to say that the whole trip has been a freaking blast. Even though the weather and snowconditions weren't that good we had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful landscape. So basically I can recommend a Trip to Newzealand to everyone.
Thanks to Quentin,Becks,Jens,Stani,CK,Samy,Mitch and sorry to all the opossums I drove over a long the way... Good Times.

The Jolly Roger represents THE ultimate personification of the Pirate ethos. It remains, as it was at the beginning of the 18th century, the insignia of people who do not consider themselves bound by the usual rules of engagement. Two dozen riders from 12 different countries caught on 16 mm, each bringing their unique style and together raising the flag once again. The crew chased shots across 3 continents, from the mountains of Salt Lake City to the alpine snowfields of Kitzbuhel to the active volcanoes of Kamchatka. Expect innovative backcountry snowboarding, creative city jibs and sh*t loads of powder, all wrapped up in the typical analog Pirate style.
The DVD will come with a 100-page art book again, packed with various works from motivated Pirates, including the riders.
Riders: Juuso Laivisto, Emeric Front, Gigi Rüf, Hans Ahlund, Tyler Chorlton, Marco Feichtner, Marko Grilc, Drew Fuller, Dimi Fesenko, Markus Keller, Eirik Haugo, Elias Elhardt, Björn Hartweger, Danny Larsen, Teo Konttinen, Kalle Ohlson, Sani Alibabic, Stephan Maurer, Osa, Jocki Köffler, Mike Casanova, Lukas Goller, Filippo Kratter, Blair Habenicht

I’m back in Lake Tahoe again after a great summer in Europe. Lake Tahoe in the summer is a stark contrast to the winter, we’re enjoying sun and warm weather every day. It’s a great place to stay active and some of the activities we’re doing to cure snowboard abstinences are wake skating on the lake, skateboarding and mountain biking. The Northstar terrainpark is just as sick in the summer as during the winter and got tons of bike trails with jumps, drops logs and small cliffs. It’s easy to get carried away, but sticks and stones hurt a whole lot more than snow so I try to take it easy. It would suck to ruin the season over a bike ride!
Off course there is also school… and I’m spending a lot of time working on my clothing company FRED UT. The website is up running soon and we have our first tradeshow in Santa Cruz in a few weeks, stay tuned… We already got or first snowfall last week, such a tease. The weather is weird this year and they say El Niño is coming so should be an epic winter!!
Peace Tarjei
Day 19 - Where is the snow part 2
18/08/2009
Hey guys,
yesterday the weather was once again super shitty. So we decided to drive with our Campervan „Lucy“ to a place called Akaroa to visit the Penguins there. But Once we got there we changed our plan and went on the golf course for a 9 whole round. That was super fun but I guess I won't start playing it within the next 40 years...
Today we went again on the mountain to a resort called Broken River. The mountain can be only reached by a rusty railway-gondola. Sketchy thing..:-) As soon as we arrived in the Broken River resort we realized that it rained all the way up to the top the last days and the tiny bit of snow there sucks. It's just way to warm at the moment and the snow is melting super fast... On the way down from the mountain we found a little gap over a stone and tried some stuff there. Didn't worked out that good.. Pray for snow!
Cheers

Day 18 - Where's the snow gone?
17/08/2009
After our 6 hour drive back to Christchurch yesterday we had to check a rental car at the airport. We choose a nice Camper van, which will be our ride/sleeping place for the next 14 days. After that I went straight to the K2 distribution because I already broke both of my boards here. They seem to break a lot easier down here ☺ Today we went together with Quentin Robbins to a Resort called Mount Lyford. Unfortunately the snow there wasn't good at all. It seems that it rained all the way to the top the day before und furthermore it got super warm today. So it was quite difficult to find good snow and things to shoot. But we worked for it and found a fence gap and a little jump over a pile of stones to shoot. At least we got the camera klicking. Today we're checking if we can find any good snow or we do some more tourist days.. keep you guys updated.

Day 12 - Back to civilisation
11/08/2009
What's up? Just arrived back in civilisation. After our stay on the hut in Tempel Basin we went down the westcoast to Wanaka. The week in Tempel was quite cool and eventhough the snow was really windpacked we found a good spot to land and built an extremely poppy corner jump. Unfortunately it doesn't worked out how we wanted but it was fun anyway. After shredding we usually chilled in our own digged snowcave near the hut. Definitely a sick place to stay! ☺ On our way down to wanaka we hang out a day in Hokitika in a motel with sick spa, which was a good oportunitiy to relax after some hard days on the mountain.
The landscape at the weastcoast is just breathtaking I have to say! Almost as beautiful as backhome in the Wallis ;-) Today we organised several things for the next days and went down to Queenstown where we rode one of these crazy speedboats. Tomorrow we gonna shred in the Snowpark before heading off to the North again the next day.

Day 5 & 6
04/08/2009
Martin Seiler reports his latest from his adventures in the southern hemisphere.
Hey guys,
Yesterday we had a cool Kickersession in the Park on Mount Hood. After the Session we went straight to a resort called Tempel Basin, which is only reachabel by feet on a hiking trial and as we arrived at the bottom of the resort only at 6 pm it was quiet a mission to find the way up there in the darkness. But with the help of Samy „the Duracell battery“ Britten we made it. The weather today was quite ugly again. Lot's of wind and heavy snowfall, so we decided to shovel some things around the huts we'are staying in. Till Friday the Völkl boys (Jens Anselstetter, Quentin Robbins, Keiji Okamoto, Chris Kröll and Michi Stanschitz) have a Shoot here and I will help them here and there to get things done. After that my shooting trip with Mitch Berger will start. And now I go for some more runs out at the scetchy nutcracker lift... so fun! :-)

Day 4
02/08/2009
Hey
Today the region around Mount Hutt got snow and unfortunately a lot of wind too and the resort was closed. So we had a downday in Christchurch and went to Lilleton to check out the amazing landscape there. After that we found some playgrounds with a Spin-wheel item on one of them and went crazy on that thing. Jens showed his kindergardenskillz and killed it and stani had the hardest slams. Let the boys play ☺ Tomorrow we finally go with our new bought sleeping bags to the hut in Tempel Basin.

Day 3
01/08/2009
First day shredding,
Today was the first day on snow. After heavy winds were forcasted for the region around Tempelton Basin we went to Mount Hutt to shred a bit. So Jens Anselstetter, Michi Stanschitz, C.K , Michi Berger and me packed our shit in Christchurch and headed off to Mount Hutt. Unfortunately there wasnt any powder left due to a windstorm the night before. Bummer. But it was still ok to fell the board again and get ready for the next days. For tomorrow it looks like a chill out day because the forecasts are looking really bad.. but well see
