Alterna Movie Premiere...in Europe!

25/09/2009

It's time to celebrate !!! Alterna's 2009 snowboard film ELEKTRO is out! It was an amazing winter filming with the ALTERNA crew... Lots of hard work and sweat, frustration and excitement, laughter and silence, clouds and sun, pow and pack, hike and sled, booters and pack-downs - now it's time to celebrate!!!

I grew up with these amazing guys that throw the funnest parties! We thought it would be a great opprtunity for us to tour Europe and bring ELEKTRO and their soundsystem BOOTY CALL to a club near you !!!

BOOTY CALL SOUNDSYSTEM (Koeln) consists of three guys mixing their different musical backgrounds into one big dance party. They love to interact with the crowd and throw in samples that keep you craving for more. The parties usually last until the mornings...

The movie already turned out sick !! Now we are destined to throw a party that people will remember...

LOVE proudly presents their first Team-Movie, 24.10.2009, Vienna

20/09/2009

For all those who fancy tuning in mentally to the next winter season with the aid of their favorite snowboard flicks, there’s a visual feast coming up that’ll definitely get you in the right mood! The Austrian snowboard-, skate- and streetware brand LOVE proudly presents their FIRST TEAM-MOVIE! The brand-new flick was produced in cooperation with Blue Tomato and is partly set in monumental locations such as the Backcountry of Silvretta Montafon, the Sajas Diedamspark at Diedamskopf and the Senonerpark at Hochkar.

With stunning commitment, snow-teamriders Marc Swoboda, Matevz Pristavec, Seppi Scholler, Thomas Feurstein, Dominik Wagner and Flo Mausser dedicated the major part of their last season for the shooting. However, the outcome shows that it was all worth it: Starting from breathtaking powder shots in Vorarlbergs’ Montafon to impeccable jumps at the massive kicker at Diedamskopf, culminating in the special “rainbow-jib session” at the Senonerpark Hochkar, this movie offers an extravagant show in an awesome mixture of powder, park and streetjibs!

The skaters Xico Basabe, Allessandro Massotti and Thomas Vevjar spent days and nights filming to a fare-thee-well, and in the end, their commitment was all paid well off by a splendid outcome, wherefrom you will soon be convinced while enjoying really big cinema. As a gimmick, the riders will also show off some ‘hidden qualities’… just to say that humor won’t fall short.

One thing can be said for sure: After having watched this, you’ll be left like a cat on the hot tin roof waiting for the first dump! Without a doubt, this is definitely one of the most distinct and engrossing snow and skate movies in 2009!

The premiere will take place on the 24th of October in Vienna at the Volksgarten Banane(the entire information can be found on the flyer).

CONVINCE YOURSELF, MAKE SURE YOU CAN COME AND DON’T MISS THIS ONE OUT. BE AWARE, HOWEVER, THE AFTER-PARTY WILL BE AS CRAZY AS THE MOVIE ITSELF!

"Dan scores!!!"

“Jolly Roger” premiere: first and last but not least!

14/09/2009

On Friday night the Pirates were celebrating the result of their season quest at home in Innsbruck with a huge party, concert and DJ set for the premiere projection of “Jolly Roger” their latest video. Since Pirates mastermind never submitted to digital attraction, their movie are well known for combining sick actions with artsy quality 16mm filming.

This year the crew composed amongst other by riders such as Austrian artist Gigi Rüf, Jibbing limits explorer Hans Ahlund, US prodigy Drew Fuller, tricks machine like Marco Grilc, Osa or Marco Feichtner saw the addition of quite a few talented riders: Juuso Laivisto, Stefan Maurer, Tyler Chorlton, Filippo Kratter, Stephan Maurer, Markus Keller and Elias Elhardt.

Elias Elhardt, the upcoming German rider, had always looked up to the Pirates as the crew to join when he would be given the chance to film. Already get to ride with Gigi, be a member part of the pirate crew was a satisfaction on its own and made his season. Although he started filming in February and had to end his season after overshooting a landing early April, Elias was happy with his season as he had learned a lot and got tricks on film, session after session. He had no expectation on how it would look at the end but felt satisfied with was has been done.

When his name was not showing up on screen during the video people started guessing he would get the closing segment. Like all good fireworks, videos are most of the time built with a powerful and outstanding performance as a closing segment. On that point, Jolly Roger was no different and Elias was delighted to get the final segment and appreciate the fact his hard work and the outcome of his season was appreciated by both the pirates editing crew and the people watching and screaming after his tricks. He landed back from Argentina the very same day and had in mind to party like an animal, believe me he put so much energy and joy into it that it seemed like a whole zoo was partying.

Thanks to all the Pirates for the party and movie

I never had this kind of adventure trip

10/09/2009

Yesterday i came back from my trip to chile! About my trip i never traveled so much around a country- like i did on this trip in chile, also i never had this kind of adventure trip! the crew was stephan maurer, eric themel, basti gogl, i and our guide sebastian camus valenzuela from chile. we arrived on the 19th in santigo the chile. sebastian our guide picked us up from the airport and showed us the santigo city!

later in the day we drove to colorado to the first ski resort 1,5 hours drive from santiago! we stayed there only two days. on the first day we got super lucky with the weather and the snow, a lot of powder but super rocky and i fucked up my board super bad! on the next day a big storm came up and we decided to drive back to santigao and organize the next stop from our road trip from sebastians place!

we stayed two days and the we traveled to the next ski resort (portillio) and stayed 40 min away from the ski resort because there was only on hotel and the hotel was fully booked! the ski resort was close to the argentina border and i never so this kind of long track traffic jam in my whole life! about he ski area- they had so funny t-bar lifts! they brought you up with 50 km/h- 5 peoples in a line, it was crazy! first day- perfect terms in the morning and around noon it got so worm that they had to close a big part of the area, it was super bad for us because there were four other crews on the mountain to! on the next day we got really early to the resort , perfect weather but the temperatures were so warm that they not opened the closed part from the last day- so we had to do some jib stuff- it was fun!

After the day we had a little meeting what we should do and again we decided to go back to santiago! we did some more site seeing in the next days because the weather forecast was not that good up to 4000 meters around zero degrees and super dangerous. the option we had was to fly to the south for snowboarding or go to the beach for surfing! after talking we the crew we traveled to sebastians beach house- we knew that the house was not finished- no toiled, no hot water, no kitchen, no bad- and when we arrived we realized that it would be a adventure time of our trip. you have to know it was winter- super cold at night. i had to sleep on the floor on some insolation stuff because the other stuff was looked in a container! all together we had a great time on the beach!

After two days we were happy to check in in a hotel with a warm shower! meeting again after two days in the hotel and only one week left before we would fly back home and we got not that much riding photos till this time! Sebastian came up with a plan that we should go and meet up with this guy called cristian wehrhahn and he is running a sled operation somewhere 1,5 hours away from santigo ( sorry i forgot the name of the place)! so we fixed everything with cristian that we are coming to his spot and try to get the shots together what we still needed for the story. we knew from cristian that the house where we are staying was up on around 2700 meters without electricity, without hot water but there would be some hot springs around the house- again adventure trip.

The story about this part of the trip: we planned to stay around 5 days up on this place and hopefully get the photos together. We knew that we had to hike, get the sled's and bring as less as possible stuff with us, so we had to bring food for 5 days and for 6 peoples up on the mountain. i can tell you it was a hell of a hike to get to the sleds! when we arrived at the house and we saw the spot were we would stay in the next days-

We had a perfect time up there- only one good day out of 5 days but on this day i had so much fun on my board and we got some really good photos out of this day! after 5 days we drove back to santiago with a smile on our face. on next day we flew back home to europe! all in one - this trip was a great experience for me! All the best Fichtl

Argentina Part 2

05/09/2009

Hola amigos,

Here a little report about my past two weeks in Argentinia, Bacelona and Innsbruck. When I arrived in Bariloche (Argentina) it was raining up to the top and it didn't really stop for almost a week. This picture shows my most common action in these days: Laying on my bed, listening to music, whatching the rain falling and from time to time birts pasing. Ans of course....Party in the night! I was pretty chilled out even though we couldn't do what we came here for.

By the time it got colder, on top the raindrops became snowflakes and just a bit later blue bird days came up. Time to shred ;-). Comming up the mountain, the view was simply amazing! Everywhere you looked you could see the big, white Mountains, the deep blue lakes, which where all around and the green irelands and forests. Although the snow wasn't the best ever, we found some fun stuff to hit and had a supergood fist day of shooting. I was pretty stoked on hitting some clifs natural and to feel some powder under my board.

Although the snow wasn't the best ever, we found some fun stuff to hit and had a supergood fist day of shooting. I was pretty stoked on hitting some clifs natural and to feel some powder under my board.

The next day the snow got already quiet crusty and it was hard to find good snow anywhere. So we ended up, spending a full day building a step up and another day for finding out, that the kicker wouldn't work....hehe. Anyways, we had a supergood spirit in the Crew and really good time hanging out together! The funny thing is, I wasn't even pissed, when we found out after the first try, that it wouldn't work....we were rather just laughing about ourselfs...

After another three days bad weatherfront a perfect day of blue sky and powder came up. That day was amaicing. One of the best days on snow that I can remember....But that's hard to say, cause there were sooo many super happy days on the board in the past 10 years.... Anyways, that day was good as well! We arrived early on the mountain and found the lines we wanted to do compleately untraced with fresh light powder on top. I started with a realy fun powderline with clifs and windlips. After that I was superstoked to land the first natural fs 7 I ever tried on a big Windlip. The day continued with some more powderturns and clifjumps...It was really good. Here a shot I took from the videofootage of that day. It shows a cab 7 from a clif.

A day lather my Jurney back home began. 22 houres bus from Bariloche to Buenos Aires, 7 houres waiting at the Airport at Buenos Aires, 15 houres flight to Madrid, one night in Madrid visiting my friend Willy, next day flight to Zürich, from there with the car straight to the Pirates World Primiere in Innsbruck, one shower before and the party was on... ;-) This Pic shows my buddy Willy in a Park in Madrid.

The Pirates Primiere was super good. Most of my best friends came to party with me and even my family was there to see the movie. When I saw the movie I couldn't belife I got the last part. I was so happy about it, especially because it was my fist time filming and I didn't expect much, as I just got to film for one and a half month. I was just really lucky, I guess.

Pic with Basti - the man behind it all. Keep shredding....enjoy! Greetings Elias
