Congrats to Aline Bock and Mitch Tolderer, respectively 3rd and 1st at the first stop of the freeride world tour.

Mitch: "I realised when the forerunner did the first run down the face that the snow looked really firm. So I decided to go for the run I did today and I sticked to my plan till the end, including the jumps. I was a bit sceptical with the landings because of the icy parts but I finally managed ok. Aline: "the snow conditions were very challenging as underneath the 50 cm of fresh snow there has been an ice layer. We all did not really expect it to be so difficult, but when I saw the first guys riding down, taking a lot of sluff with them, struggling with the conditions themselves, I have realized that this will be the toughest contest conditions for me since I have startet in freeriding competitions. I had to change my line in the last minute for about 3 times, because after all the sluff coming down from former starters some rocks got released. I have managed to ride down in some steep sections having fun escaping from the icy parts, but also beeing safe and careful without taking any risk."
