Austria, part two of the DEELUXE/CAPITA Euro trip 2010

First stop on the list was the Deeluxe headquarter in Kufstein. Nice place to start and figure out where to go. TJ spend his time taking care about his Rough Diamond. And I'm always down to give some feedback and new ideas for the Del Mar one piece boot. It's nice that the product development is working close with the riders to have a constant progress their boots.

Nuff said. Straight into the van and a two hour drive to Arlberg. Man, these mountains just have it and if you have ever been around that area, you know what I mean. Runs for days and almost perfect snow conditions. No wonder that a lot of crews make their way up to the Arlberg Mountains every year. Special thanks go out to Sten and powdertothepeople. Don’t need to say more about that, than give you a tip and watch theSnowboardrealms episodes.

After our intermezzo there, we drove around the corner to Schnöller´s hometown, the Sölden area. Unfortunately Rene wasn’t there, but we met up with his friend and photographer Rudi. He`s also responsible for the nice shaped park and was keen to show us the area around.

I also have to tell you about Magda, the owner of the pension we stayed in. She’s an awesome old lady who took good care about us, sometimes a little too much, but we appreciate her hospitality! The riding in Sölden was fun, although it hasn’t been snowing for months there. The park was in a good state and we had lots of fun there. South of Berlin Part one of the Deeluxe/Capita Euro trip 2010

Unfortunately we only had a short stay in Berlin, but enough to tram ride from Friedrichshain into the center. We visited the East Side Gallery and had an all around culture blast in this “historyfull” city. Thanks to Rillo for guiding us around Union Berlin and giving us an insight look on the scene. Enough said.

Straight to the Shredniks Shredfest in Ninive. You know it, the East German backyard spot in the middle of nowhere. This place is always worth a visit if you are looking for a fun bbq/shred sesh with the homeboys. And also a really good way to get rid of the jetlag, caused by almost a day of travel torture. Thanks to Marcel Dextor and crew, you rule!

After that we headed a bit west direction to Zwickau and Chemnitz (former Karl-Marx-Town) searched for handrails and other urban obstacles of mystic illusion. For this, there is no need of any description in this text. F.Y.I. Just watch all theSnowboardrealms.com episodes below in this blog. All I can say about it is that I have seen purple for fifteen minutes after body folding the double kink in episode 13. You know, I haven’t and never will take LSD, but I guess the vision I had after this bail must be close to that. Fuck. Lucky me I didn’t had to go to the hospital and there wasn’t blood neither in my pee, nor in the poo. I was out for 3-4 days and could continue the trip.

I was out for 3-4 days and could continue the trip. TJ and Peat ripped. We had radical runs on the slopes of Oberwiesenthal and shredded an abandoned bobsled track. Man, after all these rails it was fun to ride the t-bar and do some random lines.

We stayed for one more week in the Erzgebirge at my Grandparents farm and had a blast. Spots for days, culture, family, a mine, good&evil, schnapps, fire, guitars and whatnot.

We have been lucky that whole Germany was well covered with snow this season. We even could have gone to Hamburg harbour and grind the sh*t out of some ships, but our next mission was to go where the big mountains are, the ALPS… Voll kraaass Alter!
